The Opportunity
A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Ecologist to provide senior technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of housing, infrastructure and renewables projects. This is a hands-on senior role with team management responsibility.
The Role
- Provide senior technical leadership across ecology workstreams on housing, infrastructure and renewables projects
- Lead EPS licence preparation and submission for complex schemes
- Quality assure EIAs, BNG assessments and protected species reports
- Manage a team of ecologists and support their professional development
- Engage with clients, planning authorities and statutory consultees
About You
- Degree in Ecology or a related environmental discipline
- Two European Protected Species (EPS) survey licences — required
- Full MCIEEM membership — required
- Strong experience in BNG assessments using the Defra Metric
- Full UK driving licence
