Gaia Search was founded in 2023 by Shaun and Brendan with a clear goal: to build a recruitment business that genuinely understood the environmental and clean energy sector.
After years working in recruitment, Shaun repeatedly saw the same issues across the industry. Generalist agencies were moving into specialist markets they did not properly understand, sending poorly matched candidates and losing interest the moment a placement fee had been secured. The environmental and clean energy sector deserved a more informed and considered approach.
Today, Gaia Search works exclusively across environmental consulting and clean energy, supporting organisations and professionals across ecology, EIA, flood risk, offshore wind, sustainability and related disciplines. From graduate level through to director appointments, we work with businesses ranging from independent boutique consultancies to some of the UK's largest infrastructure firms.
Our approach is built on genuine sector knowledge, honest communication and long term relationships. We believe recruitment should be personal, informed and built around getting the right people into the right roles, not simply filling vacancies.
Every great team also needs someone responsible for morale. That role belongs to Brendan, self appointed Chief Morale Officer, strict enforcer of walk schedules and the reason no client call ever feels too serious. While he has yet to successfully place a candidate, his emotional support credentials remain unmatched.
